SISA is always proud to be a part of Medicine Hat’s Canada Day celebrations.
Encouraging all newcomer families to attend, it is a perfect setting to show gratitude and excitement about the amazing gift we all share – to live in Canada.
In 2017, for the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation, we engaged all ages of SISA students to assist us in our ‘150 Reasons to Smile’ Artistic Flag project. It tugs at the heart to see so many newcomers stating gratitude for things we often take for granted, such as the ability to go to school, play outside, and feel safe at home. This flag was displayed at Kin Coulee on Canada Day, and is proudly hung in the SISA Community Connections office now.
