Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)
The LINC program is a full-time program at SISA. Classes run Monday to Thursday from 9:15 am - 2:45 pm. We break for lunch as well as a morning and an afternoon coffee.
On Friday LINC classes run from 9:15 am to 12:00 pm.
The LINC program is designed to teach language and life skills for living in Canada. The course covers everything from basic literacy skills to LINC Level Four. This level is comparable to Canadian Language Benchmarks Level Four.
To be eligible for LINC classes a student must be a permanent resident of Canda.
LINC classes are not open to Temporary Foreign workers or those in Canada on a student or work permit.
Evening Language Classes
In the evenings SISA operates a number of supplemental English classes. These classes are funded by the Alberta Learn Council and cover the following areas:
Monday -Conversation and Pronunciation
Wednesday - Reading and Writing
Thursday - Grammar
All evening classes operate from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
